Roberts is an oilman who has been involved in all aspects of oil and gas exploration forover 40 years. He is knowledgeable regarding drilling and pumping operations and oil and gas well equipment and supplies. He has experience in the evaluation, acquisition, drilling and testing of wells and prospects and their continued operations. Roberts has administered all stages of exploration from site selection, pipeline construction, to producing well operations. He secured investors; obtained geology; negotiated leases and farm out agreements with mineral owners, BLM, NM OCD; negotiated drilling, service, crude oil and gas sales contracts; supervised location preparation, mud loggers, casing programs, cement companies, and perforating and wire line companies in New Mexico and West Texas. Roberts graduated from the University of New Mexico with an emphasis in geology and anthropology. He continued post-graduate studies in geology. He attended Murchison’s Drilling School. Roberts began his career working in the oil field as a roustabout; pumper; working on workover, cable tool, and rotary drilling rigs; initially as a field hand and later as a company operator. In 1989, he formed Monte Vista Exploration Co. Inc., an exploration and operating company in New Mexico, Texas and Arizona. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and New Mexico Geological Association.
